Samford has provided me with growth in many areas of my life- academically, professionally, and spiritually. Everyone I've met has welcomed me in, and the faculty have encouraged me to chase my ambitions and have supported me in my work. I will always hold the friendships I've built and the connections I've made close to my heart.

Someone once told me, "You can never control your opportunity, but you can always control your readiness." Samford prepared me to seize opportunities I never expected.

The value of an interdenominational community has been immeasurable. Seeing the rich traditions and expressions of worship from various denominations has been formative for me. Also having the opportunity to expose classmates to my own tradition and denominational background has fortified my appreciation and love for it in the process.

At Samford, you receive a successful, well-structured program where you are able to learn practical strategies that can be immediately applied to your daily work.

The program itself has shaped me in the obvious way of knowing the right material, but it has also prepared me in many other ways. Our interprofessional projects that we do periodically have allowed me to better understand and appreciate other healthcare professional's roles in the patient care process.

Joining the trial advocacy team taught me that the most effective way to communicate in the courtroom is to be myself. Samford teaches that to all students. That's been so helpful in learning how I want to advocate for clients in my career.

Although Samford's program is online, the professors work hard to engage the student...the support from the teachers facilitates a relationship. Many professors will offer a verse or prayer for the students at the end of their lecture or announcement. The Christ-like excellence is reflected by the faculty when working with the students.

Samford professors encourage us to advocate for our profession starting now as students. They demonstrate the impact we can have and our ability to shape the professions we want to work in.

Jesus wanted healing to happen in community… which I think it's so neat that we get that opportunity as social workers to walk alongside people. I think Samford did an amazing job at setting us up well in that regard.
